About JJ & Music
ILMO.SR. Jayantha S. Kapuwatte in the field of music profession is known as JJ. He was classically trained -Royal College of Music London and later turned toward “Pop” music whereas his creative & improvisation playing talents are self-taught. He has performed as Pianist / Keyboardist & a vocalist in well over twenty countries.
JJ’s timeless and extensive repertoire with over twenty five years of live performance experience, providing the highest level of musical entertainment for Private Parties, Weddings, Corporate Events, Banquets, Church Services, Community Events, Conventions, Cruise Ships, Festivals, Fund Raisers, Hotels, Resorts, Restaurants and other special occasions appeals to listeners of all ages.
Naturally gifted with more than his fair share of musical ability JJ is also able to improvise when the occasion calls for it by playing by ear, step up the tempo and leading a variety of fun sing-alongs. Multitalented JJ is not only a Professional One-Man-Band Entertainer but also a Qualified Music Teacher, Vocal Educator and a Music Therapist (an allied health profession).
JJ has performed for Royals, Ambassadors, general public and has represented Sri Lanka twice at International Music Festival - The Hague, New York and he has won many International awards. His passion for Sri Lankan music has never diminished and as a result he composed and released his first album mainly to raise funds for under privileged single parents' children in Sri Lanka. The album consists of 13 Sri Lankan songs with a couple of duets with his mother, Evelyn Kumari Kapuwatte.
